We offer a new customer discount for first-time buyers.
We offer not only the current bestsellers on the market, but can also customize a tent just for you.

Three years into importing rooftop tents from China. When I first started, I spent weeks digging through forums and blog posts that all said the same vague stuff. Nobody actually shared the numbers.
So here it is – exactly what I paid, shipment by shipment. No fluff, just real numbers.
First time buyer. Grabbed a soft shell tent to check quality before going all in. Factory quoted me $450. But that’s just the beginning.
| Cost Item | USD | Notes |
| Tent | $450 | Soft shell, factory price |
| Export crating | $40 | Wood pallet |
| Sea freight (LCL) | $200 | To US West Coast |
| Duty + customs | $90 | Varies by country |
| Port to door | $120 | Trucking + delivery |
| TOTAL | ≈ $900 | Door-to-door for 1 unit |
Pro tip: I should’ve waited for sea freight. Shelling out $400+ for air freight on a single tent? rookie move on my part.
Quality checked out. Started small-batch selling. LCL (shared container) made more sense here.
| Cost Item | USD | Notes |
| 10 tents | $4,500 | $450 each |
| Packing + pallets | $100 | About $10/unit |
| Sea freight (LCL) | $500 | Shared container |
| Duty + customs | $540 | Roughly 12% |
| Port to door | $250 | Bulk trucking |
| TOTAL | ≈ $5,890 | Per unit: ~$589 |
Sold these at $899 each. Moved 7 out of 10 within two months. Not bad for a test run.
Validated the market. Time to stock up. Twenty units fit nicely in half a container.
| Cost Item | USD | Notes |
| 20 tents | $9,000 | $450 each |
| Packing + pallets | $300 | 5 wooden pallets |
| Sea freight (partial) | $1,200 | Half container rate |
| Duty + customs | $1,080 | – |
| Port to door | $350 | – |
| TOTAL | ≈ $11,930 | Per unit: ~$597 |
Hit $600/unit landed cost. Wholesale to retailers at $850. Much faster turnover than retail.
Now we’re talking business. Full container changes everything – freight cost basically cuts in half.
| Cost Item | USD | Notes |
| 40 tents | $18,000 | $450 each |
| Packing + pallets | $500 | 10 wooden pallets |
| 20ft container | $1,800 | To LA port |
| Duty + customs | $2,160 | – |
| Port to door | $500 | Trucking + delivery |
| TOTAL | ≈ $22,960 | Per unit: ~$574 |
The real win? Logistics cost per unit dropped from $70+ to under $25. That’s pure margin.
1. Watch out for those rock-bottom quotes. Some factories bait you with $200 soft shells. By the time you factor in shipping and duties, you’re looking at $500+ per unit – same as buying local.
2. Always test with samples first. Yeah, air freight is painful on the wallet. But it’s a hell of a lot cheaper than sitting on 20 mislabeled tents.
3. Sea freight is your friend. Just wait the 3-4 weeks. The savings are always worth it unless you’re racing to a trade show.
4. Do your homework on tariffs. US runs about 12%. Europe varies by country. This stuff changes – double-check before every shipment.
Basic OEM (just your logo): $10K gets the job done.
Custom hard shell molds for unique designs: $12K to $80K depending on complexity. Yeah, you read that right.
Start with stock models + logo. Scale up to custom stuff once you’re moving volume.
Sample run: budget $1,000
Small batch (5-10 units): $4,000 to $6,000
Half container (20 units): $12,000
Full container (40 units): $25,000
You don’t need a fortune to get started. You just need to know where every dollar’s going.
